In this Kinsta review, we look at Kinsta’s managed WordPress hosting: what each plan includes, what Kinsta promises on uptime and support, and who it suits. Plans start at $35 a month. We haven’t tested Kinsta ourselves. Everything here comes from Kinsta’s own pages, checked October 11, 2026, plus clearly labeled creator content.

How to read this review. We keep four kinds of information apart:
– Official: what Kinsta’s own pages say, checked October 11, 2026.
– Creator’s claims: what a video creator says or shows. We didn’t check the video frame by frame.
– Vendor’s view: what Kinsta staff say on podcasts and webinars.
– Our take: our opinion, based on the sources above. It is not a test result.

Kinsta review: what it is and who it fits

Official: Kinsta sells managed WordPress hosting. Its plans differ mainly by the number of sites, monthly visits or server bandwidth, storage and CDN bandwidth. Every plan includes:
– unlimited free migrations, done by Kinsta’s team
– free one-click staging
– daily backups
– a managed firewall (WAF) with DDoS protection through Cloudflare
– free malware removal
– 24/7 chat support in 8 languages

New customers get the first month free on some entry plans. First-time customers also get a 30-day money-back guarantee, with some limits (see Pricing quick glance). Kinsta says it has 30 global data centers.

Our take: Kinsta is for sites where downtime or slowness costs money: business sites, stores, membership sites and agencies with client sites. For a first hobby blog, it’s probably more than you need.

Feature highlights

  • MyKinsta dashboard: Kinsta’s own control panel replaces cPanel. You manage sites, domains, backups, caching, redirects and tools in one place.
  • Free migrations: unlimited WordPress migrations, done by Kinsta’s migrations team.
  • Staging: free one-click staging environments. Premium staging, with more resources, is a paid add-on (up to five per site).
  • Security: a managed WAF, Kinsta’s firewall with Cloudflare Enterprise DDoS protection, and free malware removal while you host with Kinsta.
  • Backups: daily backups, kept 14 days on most plans and 20 or 30 days on some larger plans. More frequent backups are add-ons: every 6 hours for $20 per site per month, or every hour for $100 per site per month.
  • CDN: CDN bandwidth is included on every plan. The amount grows with the plan.
  • Flexible billing: on the main plan table, you choose to be billed by monthly visits or by server bandwidth. Going over a limit doesn’t take your site offline. Kinsta alerts you at 80% and 100% of usage, then charges overage fees.
  • Uptime guarantee: a 99.9% standard guarantee, with up to 99.99% when your order form says so (see Uptime).

Plan comparison

Official, from kinsta.com/pricing, checked October 11, 2026. Prices are in USD and exclude tax. Each row shows the monthly price, then the per-month price when you pay yearly.

Important: the pricing page is running an A/B test. On October 11, 2026, the pricing page had two different plan tables, so different visitors may see different plans. The table below is the default one, which the page falls back to. A second set of plans, Launch to Lead, is listed after the table. Check what Kinsta shows you before you buy.

Plan Sites Billing basis: visits OR server bandwidth Storage CDN Monthly Billed yearly
Single 35k / 20GB* 1 35,000 visits or 20GB 10GB 125GB $35 $30/mo ($350/yr)
Single 65k / 40GB 1 65,000 or 40GB 10GB 250GB $50 $42/mo ($500/yr)
Single 125k / 65GB 1 125,000 or 65GB 10GB 500GB $90 $75/mo ($900/yr)
Single 315k / 125GB 1 315,000 or 125GB 10GB 750GB $170 $142/mo ($1,700/yr)
WP 2* 2 70,000 or 40GB 20GB 250GB $70 $59/mo ($700/yr)
WP 5 5 125,000 or 65GB 30GB 500GB $115 $96/mo ($1,150/yr)
WP 10 10 315,000 or 125GB 40GB 750GB $225 $188/mo ($2,250/yr)
WP 20 20 500,000 or 250GB 50GB 1,000GB $340 $284/mo ($3,400/yr)
WP 40 40 750,000 or 500GB 60GB 1,500GB $450 $375/mo ($4,500/yr)

*Shown with “First month free” for new customers.

Also listed:
– Larger Single plans: 500k and 750k, at $290 and $375 a month.
– Agency plans: 20, 40 or 60 sites, from $340 a month.
– Enterprise: from $500/month, with custom terms.

Multisite isn’t available on the entry Single plan. Account managers start at Single 315k and WP 10.

The other plan set (A/B test variant):

Plan Sites Monthly Billed yearly
Launch 1 (about 75,000 visits) $35 $30/mo
Launch Plus 1 $59 $50/mo
Build 2 $69 $58/mo
Expand 5 $99 $83/mo
Scale 10 $169 $141/mo
Lead 20 $299 $250/mo

In both versions, paying yearly works out to about two months free.

Our take: Both tables start at $35 a month. If you only need one site, start with the entry plan and upgrade later, because Kinsta prorates plan changes. If your traffic goes up and down a lot, compare visits-based and bandwidth-based billing using your own numbers.

How the features help

Our take, based on official information. Your results still depend on your site, theme and plugins.
– Free migrations take the riskiest job, moving your site, off your hands.
– Staging lets you test updates on a copy of your site before your visitors see them.
– Daily backups mean a broken update can be rolled back.
– The firewall and malware removal reduce the security work you have to do yourself.
– Usage alerts warn you before overage fees build up.

Performance

Official: Every site runs behind Cloudflare, and every plan includes a CDN. MyKinsta has caching tools and APM (application performance monitoring). Speed add-ons such as Redis are available for a fee.

Our take: We haven’t run speed tests, so we won’t quote load times or say one host is faster. The tools are there. Your real speed still depends on your theme, your plugins and how close your data center is to your visitors.

Ease of use

Official: You manage everything in MyKinsta, Kinsta’s own dashboard. Kinsta’s team handles migrations for you, and staging takes one click.

Creator’s claims (Marketing Island): He shows a short “Install WordPress” form (site name, data center, admin login) and calls the dashboard clean and logical. He also says Kinsta isn’t aimed at beginners.

Our take: We haven’t tested it. From these sources, everyday tasks look simple, but expect to learn some hosting terms such as visits, bandwidth and staging.

Uptime

Official, from Kinsta’s Service Level Agreement:
– The standard uptime guarantee is 99.9%. Higher figures, up to 99.99%, apply only if your order form says so. The pricing page’s “Up to 99.99%” is the best case.
– If Kinsta misses the guarantee, you can get a credit of 5% to 20% of your monthly fee, capped at one month. You must ask for it by chat within 30 days.
– Some downtime doesn’t count, including:
– maintenance in the daily 2 to 5 am window (data-center local time)
– emergency maintenance
– traffic beyond your plan
– problems caused by your own code or setup

Our take: For most plans, 99.9% is the number to plan around. Ask sales if you need a higher figure in writing.

Support

Official: Support is listed as 24/7 chat in 8 languages. Kinsta’s Contact menu also lists phone, email and WhatsApp; we couldn’t confirm whether phone covers technical support. Larger plans add an account manager.

Vendor’s view: On Tech Talks Daily (August 2025), Kinsta’s Roger Williams talked about a Kinsta survey in which 93% of customers said they preferred human support. That’s Kinsta’s own survey.

Our take: We haven’t tested Kinsta support, so we don’t rate it. If you need phone support, ask Kinsta before you buy.

Featured review video

Kinsta Review 2026 (This Might Be Overkill… Or Perfect), by Marketing Island. Published April 17, 2026. Length: 6:19.

What this video is (our take): A short walkthrough of the MyKinsta dashboard and the pricing page. It doesn’t test speed, uptime or support. The description includes the creator’s own affiliate link and pushes the free first month, so treat the verdict with caution.

Creator’s claims (not frame-checked; approximate times from auto-captions):
– About 1:05 to 2:06: He walks through “Install WordPress”: site name, data-center choice (he says 27 data centers), admin login and language.
– About 2:26: He shows the site menu: domains, backups, tools, redirects, plugins and themes, IP deny, analytics, caching, APM and database.
– About 2:46 to 3:26: He lists add-ons. He says extra disk space is $20 a month, and so are hourly backups.
– About 4:08 to 5:29: He explains the pricing page. You’re billed by bandwidth or visits, and yearly billing gives two months free.

Creator’s opinion (paraphrased): The dashboard is clean and logical. Kinsta suits businesses and client sites. It’s “overkill” for beginners, and costs are hard to predict because they depend on usage.

Where the video differs from official information:
– Data centers: He says 27. Kinsta’s WordPress hosting page now says 30.
– Hourly backups: He says $20 a month. On Kinsta’s pricing page, $20 per site per month buys backups every 6 hours. Hourly backups cost $100 per site per month.

Best for / May not suit

Best for (our take):
– Businesses, stores and membership sites where downtime costs money.
– Agencies that want free migrations, staging and multi-site plans.
– Site owners who want security and backups handled for them.

May not suit (our take):
– First-time or hobby sites on a tight budget.
– Anyone who wants email hosting included. We didn’t see it in the plan tables.
– People who need phone support, unless Kinsta confirms it covers technical help.
– Sites with spiky traffic, unless you’ve checked the overage fees.

Pros and cons

Pros Cons
Official: Unlimited free migrations, done by Kinsta’s team. Official: Expensive compared with shared hosting (from $35 a month).
Official: Cloudflare protection, a managed firewall and free malware removal on every plan. Official: Usage limits and overage fees make costs harder to predict.
Official: Free staging and daily backups. Official: Extras cost more, such as 6-hourly backups ($20/site/month), hourly backups ($100/site/month) and Redis.
Official: 24/7 human chat support in 8 languages. Not confirmed: whether phone covers technical support.
Official: A first month free on some plans, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time customers. Official: The standard uptime guarantee is 99.9%. 99.99% needs it in your order form.
Official: The pricing page is running an A/B test, which makes plans confusing to compare.

Quick summary: The pros are free migrations, strong built-in security, staging, backups and 24/7 chat support. The trade-offs are a premium price, usage-based limits, paid extras and a standard 99.9% uptime guarantee.

In a nutshell

Our take: Kinsta is premium managed WordPress hosting. You get free migrations, strong built-in security, staging, backups and 24/7 human chat. You pay well above shared-hosting prices, and you need to keep an eye on the usage limits. If your site earns money, Kinsta is worth a place on your shortlist. The 30-day guarantee for first-time customers lowers the risk.
